The Principal, Dr Paul Worskett, acquired the Practice in 1988 when it was a small single-surgery Practice.

Having gained experience in several London hospitals and Practices, he quickly established a reputation in the area for providing good quality dentistry in a professional, friendly environment.

The Practice was extended and more staff were taken on during the early 1990’s. In 1994, the University of Birmingham approved Paul as a trainer of newly qualified dentists and since then, more than a dozen dentists have benefited from the experience gained at Amblecote. Paul was also approved as an Enhanced Trainer, one of only 12 dentists in the Midlands to be awarded this status.

As a firm believer in ongoing training and development, Paul has undertaken further training to continue to raise the standards provided by the Practice, and the staff also shares this philosophy.

More recently, further training and experience has been gained by 2 years of study at a specialist centre in Manchester, enabling the highest standards of modern dental techniques to be provided at the Practice. Paul is currently studying for a Masters Degree in General Dental Practice.

Other dentists at the Practice also share Paul’s enthusiasm for self development. All the dentists have undertaken many advanced postgraduate courses and Dr Pharooq Mirza is also studying for a Masters degree, in the specialty of orthodontics.

In recognition of our commitment to this philosophy, we have also been awarded the prestigious “Investors in People” award and the British Dental Association’s “Good Practice Award”, awarded for meeting, and maintaining, high standards in dental practice. In 2007, we were runners up in the National Dentistry awards for “best team” in the Midlands category.
